New, innovative products help Helena maintain its highly regarded reputation in the adjuvant industry. Helena has several patented formulations that provide end users with consistent, high-quality performance in almost every area of crop protection and production. Recognized by the agricultural input industry as being first to market with unique formulations, Helena was the first company to introduce organosilicone-based, nonionic surfactants to the U.S. market. And it was a pioneer in introducing methylated seed oil adjuvants and other technologically advanced technologies.Today, Helena remains at the forefront of commercial adjuvant technology and has several formulations under development to fit the needs of advanced pesticide chemistries, as well as existing chemistry. Helena adjuvants of note include Kinetic®, Dyne-Amic®, Agri-Dex®, Induce®, Penetrator®Plus, Hyper-Active®, Grounded®, and many others. (Not all of these products are registered in California.)

Seed Treatments

Helena has been involved in proprietary seed treatment products since it first offered Vitavax®-M in the 1970s. Since then, it has marketed Vitavax CT, Vitavax M DC, KickStart®, KickStart® VP, System3®, Seed Treatment for Potatoes LD, and the high-quality innovative HiStick® line of inoculants. Development of seed treatment products will continue to be a priority for Helena, as the company continues to provide products that help protect valuable transgenic seeds, as well as conventional seed products. Value-Added Generics

In this product group, existing generic pesticides are re-formulated with value-added constituents to increase activity, increase safety and improve ease of use. Two recent examples are the herbicides Barrage® HF and Opti-Amine®. These modified 2,4-D type products have been used with superior results. For end users, both products have helped lower costs while providing improved weed control, and lowering the impact of pesticides on the environment. Nutritionals

For years, Helena has been building an arsenal of high-quality, specialty fertilizer products that provide customers with unique, valuable benefits. These include the Tracite® line of foliar and soil-applied micronutrients, Meister® Programmed Release Fertilizers, CoRoN® Controlled Release Nitrogen products and its new line of high-value micronutrients—Ele-Max® Precision Nutrition line of products. With ongoing product development, testing and practical experience in the field, Helena will continue to devote resources to this product group in its efforts to better serve its customers.

BioScience

This quickly developing segment of agricultural inputs is getting attention from all markets. Helena’s goal in the BioScience products category is to discover and isolate modes of action of newly discovered compounds for the benefit of customers. Helena already has several commercial BioScience products with several more in the R&D pipeline.
In new product development, compounds and organisms that improved the long-term productivity of the soil and water are currently being scrutinized. In addition, environmentally benign products formulated with common bio-active constituents are being isolated and analyzed. Existing products that are under the BioScience umbrella include the unique and popular fertilizer additives—Asset®, Asset PPS, Asset RTU and Asset RS. Other unique BioScience products include ARMICARB® 100, a unique contact fungicide, andECe-XK® line ofsoil conditioners.

Specialty Line - Industrial, Turf and Ornamental

Helena's activity is growing rapidly in other related areas. These include turf & ornamental, forestry & industrial, and aquatics. To meet the efficiency and productivity needs in these areas, Helena has introduced Pro-Mate products, a line comprised of high-quality spray adjuvants, nutritional products and other specialty products.
