Internship Program
After 12 years of maintaining a very High Profile
Internship Program on College Campuses, Helena Chemical Company
finds it necessary to Downsize the program due to
budget constraints. The goal is to better steward our resources
in a challenging Ag Economy, without sacrificing the key element
of the Internship Program. The key element is providing Spring
and Summer Internships to students. To this end, Helena Chemical
Company remains committed.
The Helena Internship Program is designed to be a 1 to 4 year
training program. Ideally, a student would start after the completion
of his or her freshman year, and continue on, each summer, till
graduation.
The purpose of the Helena Internship Program is two fold:
1. To provide Helena Chemical Company with a significant student
data base from which to recruit Spring and/or Summer Field Interns.
2. To provide students with an opportunity to learn more about
Production Agriculture, and the Ag Chem / Fertilizer / Seed Industry.
During our Spring and Summer programs we place you in a branch
under the guidance of a certified PCA (Pest Control Advisor).
You will have an opportunity to learn some of the following:
1. How to Scout for crop pests.
2. How to I.D beneficial insects.
3. How to pull soil and tissue samples.
4. Develop an understanding of Irrigation Management.
5. Develop an understanding of Plant development.
6. Business and Work ethics.
At the end of each summer, when the interns return to school,
they take with them a summers worth of practical, hands-on
field experience. Each summers experience builds on the
previous one. You will find much of what you learn at Helena applicable
to your courses of study on campus. Conversely, much of what you
learn in you classrooms and school projects will transfer to your
work in our Internship Program.
We look forward to hearing from you.
