The Grower's Guide To Managing Nematodes, Phytophthora & Armillaria in Citrus The Grower's Guide To Managing Nematodes In Grapes The Grower's Guide To Managing Phylloxera

ENZONE is a water-soluble soil fumigant designed to manage phylloxera and Armillaria (oak root fungus) on grapes, Phytophthora on citrus, and a wide range of nematodes on grapes, citrus, and deciduous trees.

The active ingredient in ENZONE is sodium tetrathiocarbonate. Once ENZONE reaches the soil, the sodium tetrathiocarbonate begins to decompose, forming carbon disulfide (CS2) which is an effective soil fumigant. The gas dissipates quickly, either by evaporation or through oxidation, leaving behind only carbonates and sulfates, both of which are innocuous, naturally occurring soil minerals. Thus ENZONE performs its control of the pests rapidly, but leaves no residue to cause potential environmental harm to the crop, birds and other wildlife, or to the ground water.

ENZONE is designed to be applied through drip systems, mini-sprinklers, flood or furrow irrigation. These methods can be used for either pre-plant or post-plant applications. Unlike many other products used to treat these pests, the EPA DOES NOT REQUIRE A "RESTRICTED USE" PERMIT FOR ENZONE APPLICATIONS.

ENZONE begins working immediately upon contact with the soil and fumes continuously during application. ENZONE will continue to fume for a few days after application, providing for extended and deep-fuming management of soil pests, but will then quickly dissipate.

Because ENZONE only remains in the soil for a short time, the timing and application method of ENZONE applications is extremely important. ENZONE will not perform properly if used in the same manner that most other chemicals are used. Each pest and each crop requires different timing and number of applications during active growing season. Treating perennial crops for soil pathogens should be a continuous operation. Typically, treatment is best done during the times of root flush in the crops' growth cycle as this will also be the time when the pest is most active. Although immediate results should not be expected, treatment with ENZONE will permit root growth to flourish which will ultimately lead to healthier vines or trees.

ENZONE may be used either as a pre-plant treatment or applied post-plant to perennial plants that have been established in the field for at least 12 months.

ENZONE will not completely eliminate your pest. However, use of ENZONE will permit the grower to manage the detrimental effects of the pest for a long time.
